The Nightengale Archaeological Center at Kingsland is located around 10 acres on the banks of Lake LBJ. The prehistoric site was discovered in 1988. The Texas Historical Commission has declared this site a State Archeological Landmark. Guided educational tours in this site encourages local school and civic groups to visit the place and preserve the past.
